People have played games with a ball for thousands of years. Modern soccer began in England in the 19th century. The first official rules of soccer were made in 1863. This was when the Football Association was formed in England.

1.3

Soccer is played on a large field. The field is 100 to 110 meters long and 64 to 75 meters wide. Each team has 11 players. The main goal is to kick the ball into the other team's goal. The team with the most goals wins the game. Players except the goalkeeper cannot use their hands or arms to touch the ball.

1.4
