Russia is famous for its size. It is so big that it spans eleven time zones. This means that when it is morning in Moscow, it could already be evening in other parts of the country. The size of Russia often leaves visitors wide-eyed. Russia has many different types of landscapes. In the north, there is the tundra, where snow covers the ground for most of the year. In the south, the land is much better for growing crops like wheat and vegetables. One of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, the Ural Mountains, divides the European part of Russia from the Asian part.
