Water is a drink that we need every day. It is clear and tastes like nothing. But water is super important for our bodies to work well. We drink water to quench our thirst and to keep us healthy.

People have been drinking water since ancient times. In the old days, they drank water from rivers and wells. They knew water was good for them, even though they did not understand why.
La gente ha estado bebiendo agua desde la antigüedad. En los viejos tiempos, bebían agua de ríos y pozos. Sabían que el agua era buena para ellos, aunque no entendían por qué.
Nowadays, we can get water from many places. We can drink it from the tap in our homes, or we can buy bottles of water from stores. Some people add flavors to their water, like lemon or strawberry, to make it taste better.
Hoy en día, podemos obtener agua de muchos lugares. Podemos beberla del grifo en nuestros hogares, o podemos comprar botellas de agua en las tiendas. Algunas personas añaden sabores a su agua, como limón o fresa, para mejorar su sabor.
Drinking water has many benefits. It helps us stay hydrated, which means it keeps our bodies from getting too dry. When we are hydrated, we feel better and have more energy. Water also helps our bodies get rid of waste and toxins.
Beber agua tiene muchos beneficios. Nos ayuda a mantenernos hidratados, lo que significa que evita que nuestros cuerpos se sequen demasiado. Cuando estamos hidratados, nos sentimos mejor y tenemos más energía. El agua también ayuda a nuestro cuerpo a eliminar desechos y toxinas.
Sometimes, we drink other things instead of water, like juice or soda. These drinks can be tasty, but they often have lots of sugar and other things that are not good for us. Water is the healthiest choice because it has no sugar or calories.
