Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. It is also called football in many countries. Soccer has a long history and is loved by many people.

People have played games with a ball for thousands of years. Modern soccer began in England in the 19th century. The first official rules of soccer were made in 1863. This was when the Football Association was formed in England.
