The Champs-Élysées is a famous street in Paris, France.  It is very well-known around the world.  The street is about 1.9 kilometers long.  It goes from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde.  Many people visit the Champs-Élysées every year.

The Champs-Élysées is very pretty.  It has many trees, shops, cafes, and theaters.  People like to walk along the street and enjoy the view.  There are many famous stores on the Champs-Élysées.  Some stores sell clothes, perfumes, and other luxury items.  Tourists love to shop here.

At one end of the Champs-Élysées is the Arc de Triomphe.  This is a famous monument.  It was built to honor soldiers who fought and died for France.  The monument is very big.  People can go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and see a great view of Paris.

At the other end of the Champs-Élysées is the Place de la Concorde.  This is a large square.  It has a big fountain and an ancient Egyptian obelisk.  The obelisk is over 3,000 years old.  Egypt gave it to France as a gift.

Many important events happen on the Champs-Élysées.  Every year on July 14, there is a big parade for Bastille Day.  This is a national holiday in France.  The parade is very colorful and exciting.  Many people come to watch it.

Another important event is the finish of the Tour de France.  This is a famous bicycle race.  The last part of the race happens on the Champs-Élysées.  Many people come to see the cyclists and cheer for them.

Fun fact: The name "Champs-Élysées" means "Elysian Fields."  In Greek stories, this was a special place where heroes went after they died.  Today, people think of the Champs-Élysées as a special place for shopping and walking.
