Pronomes demonstrativos em inglês são pronomes que ajudam o falante a mostrar quão perto ou longe algo ou alguém está.

Pronomes Demonstrativos no Singular
'This' e 'that' são usados para apontar uma coisa ou pessoa.
Para falar sobre uma coisa/pessoa próxima ao falante, usa-se 'this'.
Para falar sobre uma coisa/pessoa distante do falante, usa-se 'that'.
Agora, veja alguns exemplos:
This is a pen.
Isto é uma caneta.

Ao dar uma resposta curta a uma pergunta sobre os pronomes demonstrativos 'this' e 'that,' usa-se o pronome sujeito 'it' na resposta. Por exemplo:

- 'O que é isto?' + 'É uma mochila.'
Is this your book? + Yes, it is.
- 'Este é seu livro?' + 'Sim, é.'
Embora seja possível omitir o sujeito em português, as frases em inglês precisam sempre de sujeito.
Pronomes Demonstrativos no Plural
'These' e 'those' são usados para apontar várias coisas ou pessoas.
Para falar sobre coisas/pessoas próximas ao falante, usa-se 'these'.
Para falar sobre coisas/pessoas distantes do falante, usa-se 'those'.
