an appliance shaped like a box that is used for heating or cooking food by putting food on top or inside the appliance

four à cuisiner
the highest part of a room, vehicle, etc. that covers it from the inside

plafond
the bottom of a room that we walk on

sol
a piece of furniture with shelves and doors, usually built into a wall, designed for storing things like foods, dishes, etc.

placard
a space in a wall or vehicle that is made of glass and we use to look outside or get some fresh air

fenêtre
an upright structure, usually made of brick, concrete, or stone that is made to divide, protect, or surround a place

mur
a chair with side supports for the arms and a comfortable backrest, often used for relaxation or reading

fauteuil
a small table or cabinet placed next to a bed, typically used to hold items such as a lamp, alarm clock, or personal belongings

table de chevet, table de nuit
a low, basin-like fixture located close to the toilet that is used to clean the anal or genital area by spraying water onto it

bidet, un bidet
a thick piece of woven cloth, used as a floor covering

moquette
a hanging piece of cloth or other materials that covers a window, opening, etc.

rideau
a bag made of cloth that is filled with soft material, used for leaning or sitting on

coussin
an electric machine that is used to clean dishes, spoons, cups, etc.

a space or place in a wall for building a fire in

cheminée
an electrical container that can store food for a long time at a temperature that is very low

congélateur
the main entrance to a person's house

porte d'entrée
an object that can give light by using electricity or burning gas or oil

lampe, abat-jour
a flat surface made of glass that people can see themselves in

miroir
something we use to cover or decorate a part of the floor that is usually made of thick materials or animal skin

tapis
a flat, narrow board made of wood, metal, etc. attached to a wall, to put items on

étagère
a large and open container that has a water supply and you can use to wash your hands, dishes, etc. in

a movable blind used to cover a window, typically made of wood, metal, or plastic, and often used for privacy, light control, or decoration

volet
a series of steps connecting two floors of a building, particularly built inside a building

a piece of furniture that is large and is used for hanging and storing clothes

a container that a person can use to wash their hands and face, usually found in a bathroom, which has a faucet to turn on the water and a drain to let the water out

an electric machine used for washing clothes

in a position at the front part of someone or something else or further forward than someone or something

at the rear or back side of an object or area

in, into, or at the space that is separating two things, places, or people

in a position very close to someone or something

on the opposing side of a particular area from someone or something, often facing them
