Apa Itu Imperative Mood?
Imperative mood digunakan untuk memberi perintah atau meminta seseorang untuk melakukan atau tidak melakukan sesuatu. Lihat contoh-contohnya:
You can go to your room. → Go to your room!
Kamu bisa pergi ke kamarmu. → Pergi ke kamarmu!
You need to start. → Start!
Kamu perlu memulai. → Mulai!
You should respect your mother. → Respect your mother!
Kamu harus menghormati ibumu. → Hormati ibumu!
Struktur
Imperative mood dibentuk menggunakan bentuk dasar dari kata kerja utama di awal kalimat, tanpa subjek. Kalimat imperatif sering diakhiri dengan tanda seru, tetapi dalam beberapa kasus, bisa diakhiri dengan titik. Lihat contohnya:
Finish your meal!

Imperative Mood Negatif
Untuk memberi perintah negatif, 'do not' (atau 'don't') digunakan di awal kalimat imperatif. Ini digunakan untuk memberi tahu seseorang agar tidak melakukan sesuatu. Berikut beberapa contoh:
Don't touch my hair!
Jangan sentuh rambutku!
Don't show me the cat!
