時間をどうやって表現するのか？
時間の表現は、通常、時、分、秒を使って特定の時間を伝えることです。このレッスンでは、英語で時間について質問したり話したりすることを学びます。
時間をどうやって尋ねるのか？
「What time is it?」や「What's the time?」といった表現は、現在の時刻を尋ねるために使われます。これは時間を尋ねる最も一般的な方法です。この質問に対する答えは「It is ...」で始まります。
- 'What time is it?' + 'It’s 6 o’clock.'
- 今何時ですか？ + 6時です。
- 'What's the time?' + 'It’s six fifty.'
- 何時ですか？ + 6時50分です。
「when」 という疑問副詞は、イベントの時間を尋ねる際に使われます。例えば、映画やコンサートなどの時間を尋ねるときです。
- 'When is the movie?' + 'It’s at 8.'
- 映画はいつですか？ + 8時です。
- 'When is the concert?' + 'It’s at 10.'
- コンサートはいつですか？ + 10時です。
O’clock, Quarter, Half
「O'clock」は「of the clock」の短縮形で、その時間ちょうどを示します。1時間は60分で、「Quarter」（4分の1）は15分、「Half」（2分の1）は30分を意味します。
2:00 → 'It’s two o’clock'
2:00 → 2時です
3:15 → 'It’s three-fifteen' or 'It’s a quarter past three'
3:15 → 「3時15分です」 または 「3時15分過ぎです」
12:30 → 'It’s twelve thirty' or 'It’s half past twelve' or 'It’s half to one'
12:30 → 「12時30分です」または「12時半です」

数字を使用すると議事録を簡単に読み取ることができます。いくつかの例を見てみましょう：
3:15 → It's three fifteen.
3:15 → 3時15分です。
7:30 → It's seven thirty.
7:30 → 7時30分です。
11:45 → It's eleven forty-five.

一日の時間帯
正午前の時間を表す際には「AM」が使われ、正午以降は「PM」が使われます。
1:00 → It is 1 in the afternoon or it’s 1 PM.
1:00 → 午後1時です
6:00 → It is 6 in the morning so it’s 6 AM.
6:00 → 午前6時です
12:00 → It’s 12 PM or it’s noon.
12:00 → 12時です または正午です。
12:00 → It’s 12 AM or it’s midnight.
12:00 → 12時ですまたは真夜中です。
時間の前置詞
時間を表現する際には、after、to、pastなどの前置詞が使われます。
10:20 → It’s ten twenty or it’s twenty after ten.
10:20 → 10時20分です
03:50 → It’s three fifty or it’s ten to four.
03:50 → 3時50分です
8:15 → It’s eight fifteen or It’s a quarter past eight.
8:15 → 8時15分です
