What Is Their Main Difference?

These two are only similar in that they are homophones. However, 'waste' refers to rubbish that we tend to get rid of, while, 'waist' is part of the human body.

'Waste' refers to anything rubbish that we no longer need and get rid of, whereas, 'waist' is part of the human body below the ribs. Look at the examples below:

These two are only similar in that they have identical pronunciations.
