to describe [verb]

to give details about someone or something to say what they are like

Ex: The artist used vivid colors to describe the sunset in her painting .

foreground [noun]

the part of a scene, photograph, etc. that is closest to the observer

Ex: The photographer used a shallow depth of field to draw attention to the flowers in the foreground and blur the background .

background [noun]

the part of a photograph, etc. that is situated behind the main figures, etc.

Ex: The artist painted a detailed background to complement the central figures in the portrait .

left [adjective]

located or directed toward the side of a human body where the heart is

Ex: In the portrait , the artist skillfully depicted the subject 's expressive eyes , positioned on the left side .

middle [noun]

the part, position, or point of something that has an equal distance from the edges or sides

Ex: He stood in the middle of the field , waiting for the game to start .

right [noun]

the direction or side that is toward the east when someone or something is facing north

Ex: Turn to your right at the intersection .

photograph [noun]

a special kind of picture that is made using a camera in order to make memories, create art, etc.

Ex: The artist used a series of photographs as references for a realistic painting .
