Où sont placés les adjectifs ?
Les adjectifs sont des mots qui décrivent des noms. Ils peuvent être placés avant les noms ou après le verbe « be ».
Avant les noms
Comme mentionné précédemment, un adjectif peut être utilisé avant le nom qu'il décrit. Regardez ci-dessous :
A beautiful girl
Une belle fille
« Girl » est un nom.
The wild cat
Le chat sauvage
A fluffy sheep
Un mouton duveteux
The kind witch
La gentille sorcière
Maintenant, observez leur placement dans des phrases complètes :
I can see a red circle.
Je peux voir un cercle rouge.
He is a sad boy.
Il est un garçon triste.
Après le verbe « to be »
Nous pouvons également placer des adjectifs après les verbes « to be ». Regardez les exemples suivants :
The dog is black.
Le chien est noir.
The panda is sleepy.
Le panda est endormi.
I am angry.
Je suis en colère.
That old woman is kind.
Cette vieille dame est gentille.
Ici, « old » est un adjectif avant le nom et « kind » est un adjectif après le verbe « be ».
Nombre d'adjectifs
Nous pouvons avoir deux ou plusieurs adjectifs avant le nom que nous voulons décrire. Regardez les exemples suivants :
I ate a big, delicious, creamy birthday cake yesterday.
J'ai mangé un gros, délicieux, crémeux gâteau d'anniversaire hier.
Look at those beautiful blue roses over there.
Regardez ces belles roses bleues là-bas.
