What Is Their Main Difference?
Both of these terms refer to the natural setting in which we live. However, 'environment' refers to our surroundings. The term 'ecosystem', though, is about all the animals, plants, and organisms living in a particular place and it analyzes how they interact with one another and, of course, with their surroundings.
Differences
As stated above, 'environment' refers to a person's surroundings. Take a look at the examples below:

On the other hand, 'ecosystem' refers to the setting in which different organisms like animals, plants, microorganisms, etc. live and interact with one another and their environment. Let us take a look at the following examples:

Similarities
Both of them refer to the natural setting we live in. Take a look:

Are They Interchangeable?
Although both refer to the setting in which we live, they cannot be used interchangeably. 'Ecosystem' indicates the place in which all different organisms live, whereas, 'environment' points out our surroundings. Compare:

Here, we cannot have someone grow up in a toxic ecosystem.
