Forceful vs. Forcible

"Forceful" vs. "Forcible" in English

What Is Their Main Difference?

Both of these words describe how we act or how something is done. However, 'forceful' is used when something is influential, or when someone is self-assured. 'Forcible', on the other hand, refers to something that is done by force, sometimes even violence.

Differences

As I mentioned above, 'forceful' refers to someone that is confident and determined. It can also refer to something that is influential. Look at the following examples:

Example

Unfortunately, Linda does not have a forceful personality.

'Forcible', on the other hand, refers to doing something with force and sometimes violence. Let us check out the examples below:

Example

Similarities

Both refer to how we describe something or someone. Look:

Example
