Both are related to classifying people into different groups based on their differences, like being male or female. However, 'sex' is more used for biological differences like the reproductive organs, while, 'gender' is defined as the stereotypical attributes that come with one's sex. However, the LGBTQ+ movement has decentred many of these socially-contructed roles.
