What Is Their Main Difference?
They are only similar in that they are homophones. However, 'maize' refers to corn, whereas, 'maze' is a complex web of trails that is like a puzzle and it is somehow impossible to get out of.

'Maize' refers to yellow corn, while, 'maze' refers to a web of complex pathways that is extremely difficult for one to get out. Look at the examples below:
