armchair [noun]

a chair with side supports for the arms and a comfortable backrest, often used for relaxation or reading

Ex: He sat in the armchair by the fire , reading a book .

basin [noun]

a fixed bathroom sink with running water, used for washing hands and face

Ex: He cleaned the basin thoroughly to remove soap scum and toothpaste stains .

bath [noun]

a large and long container that we fill with water and get inside of to clean and wash our body

Ex: He filled the bath with bubbles and added essential oils for a luxurious and calming experience .

bin [noun]

a container, usually with a lid, for putting waste in

Ex: Please put your litter in the bin provided .

chair [noun]

furniture with a back and often four legs that we can use for sitting

Ex: I sat on the comfortable chair while reading a book .

coffee table [noun]

a low table, often placed in a living room, on which magazines, cups, etc. can be placed

Ex: He found a beautiful vintage coffee table at the flea market .

cooker [noun]

an appliance shaped like a box that is used for heating or cooking food by putting food on top or inside the appliance

Ex: He forgot to turn off the cooker after making breakfast .

desk [noun]

furniture we use for working, writing, reading, etc. that normally has a flat surface and drawers

Ex: The receptionist sat behind the desk , welcoming visitors .

dishwasher [noun]

an electric machine that is used to clean dishes, spoons, cups, etc.

Ex: The dishwasher is energy-efficient , saving water and electricity .

lamp [noun]

an object that can give light by using electricity or burning gas or oil

Ex: He replaced the old bulb in the lamp with a brighter one .

mirror [noun]

a flat surface made of glass that people can see themselves in

Ex: The bathroom mirror was foggy from the steam of the hot shower .

wardrobe [noun]

a piece of furniture that is large and is used for hanging and storing clothes

Ex: He opened the wardrobe to find a jacket for the evening .

washing machine [noun]

an electric machine used for washing clothes

Ex: She put her dirty clothes in the washing machine and added detergent .

kitchen [noun]

the place in a building or home where we make food

Ex: She stored canned goods and snacks in the kitchen pantry .

apartment [noun]

a place that has a few rooms for people to live in, normally part of a building that has other such places on each floor

Ex: She invited her friends over to her apartment for a movie night .

to cost [verb]

to require a particular amount of money

Ex: Last year , the home renovation cost them a significant portion of their savings .

wide [adjective]

having a large length from side to side

Ex: The field was wide , providing plenty of space for the children to play .

perfect [adjective]

completely without mistakes or flaws, reaching the best possible standard

Ex: My dog is perfect , even though he occasionally chews my shoes .

great [adverb]

in a notably positive or exceptional manner

Ex: The new policy worked great , leading to improved efficiency in the workplace .

bathroom [noun]

a room that has a toilet and a sink, and often times a bathtub or a shower as well

Ex: He cleans the bathroom regularly to keep it hygienic and tidy .

to collect [verb]

to gather together things from different places or people

Ex: The scientist collected samples of soil and water from different locations for environmental analysis .

dry cleaner [noun]

an individual who works or owns a business specializing in the cleaning and maintenance of garments and textiles using methods that do not involve water

Ex: He greeted the dry cleaner and asked for same-day service .

sink [noun]

a large and open container that has a water supply and you can use to wash your hands, dishes, etc. in

Ex: The bathroom sink had a leak , so they called a plumber to fix it .

sofa [noun]

a comfortable seat that has a back and two arms and enough space for two or multiple people to sit on

Ex: The sofa in the living room is big enough to seat three people .

table [noun]

furniture with a usually flat surface on top of one or multiple legs that we can sit at or put things on
