Loan vs. Lend
Differences
'Loan' can be both a noun and a verb, whereas, 'lend' is always a verb. Check out the following examples:

This website offers different loans and financial aids.
How can you possibly lend her $500,000?
Similarities
Both refer to giving someone a large amount of money on the condition that it will be paid back. Look at the examples below:
Example
What kind of loans do you have?
I'm sorry, but I cannot lend you this much now.
Are They Interchangeable?
If they are both verbs, they can be used interchangeably, but remember that when 'loan' is a noun, it can be replaced with 'lend'. Compare:
Example
✓ My manager is no longer able to lend me money.
✓ My manager is no longer able to loan me money.

I cannot take seriously any language maven who writes "gonna" and "wanna." Also, good writers do not use contractions.
