What Is Their Main Difference?

These words are homophones. However, 'lets' is the third-person singular present form of the verb that some with pronouns like 'she', 'he', and 'it', while 'let's' is the contracted form of 'let us'.

Differences

'Let's' is the contracted form of 'let us', whereas, 'lets' is the third-person singular present tense of the verb 'let'. Check out the examples below:

Let's get her outta here then.

Hannah lets you go out with your friends every time.

Similarities

They are both different forms of the verb 'let'. Look at the examples below:

If you stop nagging, I'm sure she lets you do whatever you want.

Let's head out and grab some coffee, eh?

Are They Interchangeable?

Since they have different grammatical usages, they cannot be used interchangeably. Compare:
