to spend [verb]

to pass time in a particular manner or in a certain place

Ex: His retirement years were spent traveling the world .

to spend one's time doing things that are useless or unnecessary

Ex: I do n’t want to waste my time on projects that do n’t align with my goals .
spare [adjective]

(of time) available for hobbies and not taken up by activities or tasks

Ex: She used her spare hours in the evening to take up painting .
full-time [adjective]

done for the usual hours in a working day or week

Ex: He has been a full-time writer for five years .
