Who
„Who” este un pronume interogativ folosit pentru a pune întrebări despre persoane. De exemplu:
- Who is he? + He is Sam.
- Cine este el? + El este Sam.
- Who ate the last slice of the cake? + Angela.
- Cine a mâncat ultima felie de tort? + Angela.
What
„What” este un pronume interogativ folosit pentru a pune întrebări despre lucruri. De exemplu:
- What happened? + Nothing happened.
- Ce s-a întâmplat? + Nu s-a întâmplat nimic.

Atât „who” cât și „what” pot fi folosite pentru a pune întrebări despre subiectul sau obiectul unei propoziții, dar atunci când întrebi despre obiecte, este necesar să folosești un auxiliar între pronumele interogative și subiectul verbului. Uitați-vă la exemplele de mai jos:

Which
Pronumele interogative „which” este folosit pentru a pune întrebări despre un element specific sau o selecție din mai multe opțiuni. La fel ca „what” și „who”, „which” poate fi folosit și pentru a întreba despre subiect și obiect, iar regula adăugării unui auxiliar se aplică și aici. De exemplu:
- Which is yours? + The black one is mine.
- Care este al tău? + Cel negru este al meu.
- Which do you want, tea or coffee? + I want coffee.
