'Though' as a Subordinating Conjunction

'Though' can be a subordinating conjunction and connect a dependent clause to an independent one. Look:

  • One is used to say that despite something, the result was unexpected or surprising. Look:

Percy Shelly was an anarchist though he was living in Victorian England.

It was raining lightly though the sun was shining in the sky.

  • This one means 'but'. Study the following examples:
