ticket [noun]

a piece of paper or card that shows you can do or get something, like ride on a bus or attend an event

Ex: The flight attendant scanned my electronic ticket before I boarded the plane .

trip [noun]

a journey that you take for fun or a particular reason, generally for a short amount of time

Ex:

one-way ticket [noun]

a ticket that can be used for travelling to a place but cannot be used for coming back from that place

Ex: She purchased a one-way ticket for the train , not knowing when she 'd return .

round-trip ticket [noun]

a ticket that can be used for travelling to a place and coming back from that place

Ex: She checked the dates on her round-trip ticket to make sure they were correct .

direct flight [noun]

a flight between two points that takes place without changing planes, but might include stops on the way

Ex: Although the direct flight was more expensive , he preferred it to save time on his business trip .

nonstop flight [noun]

a flight between two points that takes place without changing planes or stopping on the way

Ex: The airline offers a nonstop flight that connects two major cities without any stops .

aisle [noun]

a narrow passage in a theater, train, aircraft, etc. that separates rows of seats

Ex: The train conductor moved up and down the aisle , checking tickets and assisting passengers with their luggage .

seat [noun]

a place in a plane, train, theater, etc. that is designed for people to sit on, particularly one requiring a ticket

Ex: She found an empty seat on the bus and settled in for the journey .

window seat [noun]

a seat on a train, plane, bus, etc. that is placed next to a window

Ex: The child pressed her face against the glass from the window seat .
