حروف اضافه‌ی جهت و حرکت چیستند؟
«حروف اضافه جهت و حرکت» برای توصیف نحوه حرکت یک فرد یا شی از یک مکان به مکان دیگر استفاده می شوند.

برخی از حروف اضافه‌ی جهت و حرکت پرتکرار در زیر فهرست شده‌اند:
Over → از روی
Under → به زیر
Into → به داخل
Out of → بیرون از
Around → به دور
Across → به سوی دیگر
Up → به بالا
Down → به پایین
Over
حرف اضافه‌ی 'over' حرکت از یک طرف به طرف دیگر از روی چیزی را نشان می دهد. به چند نمونه توجه کنید:
The bird flew over the fence.
پرنده از روی حصار پرواز کرد.
She jumped over the puddle.
او از روی گودال پرید.
Under
حرف اضافه‌ی 'under' نشان می دهد که کسی/چیزی به سمت زیر چیزی حرکت می کند. به مثال‌های زیر نگاه کنید:
The cat ran under the table.
گربه به زیر میز دوید.
He crawled under the bed.
او به زیر تخت خزید
Into
حرف اضافه‌ی 'into' نشان می‌دهد که چیزی/کسی به داخل مکانی می‌رود:
Let's go into the third room.
بیایید به داخل اتاق سوم برویم.
I asked Tom to move the big boxes into the second room.

Out of
از حرف اضافه‌ی 'out of' برای نشان دادن حرکت به بیرون از یک مکان استفاده می کنیم. برای مثال:
Move out of this room!
از این اتاق بیرون برو!
The police are coming. Let's get out of here.
پلیس داره میاد. بیا از اینجا بریم بیرون.
Around
'Around' برای نشان دادن حرکت به دور چیزی یا کسی به کار می‌رود. به مثال‌های زیر دقت کنید:
The kids are running around the table.
بچه‌ها در حال دویدن دور میز هستند.
We took a walk around the Eifel Tower.
ما دور برج ایفل قدم زدیم.
Across
یکی دیگر از حروف اضافه رایج جهت و حرکت 'across' است. این حرف اضافه حرکت از یک سمت به سمت دیگر را نشان می دهد. برای مثال:
I saw Jim running across the street an hour ago.
یک ساعت پیش جیم را در حال دویدن به سمت دیگر خیابان دیدم
The dog ran across the yard.
سگ به سمت دیگر حیاط دوید.
Up
حرف اضافه‌ی 'up' حرکت به مکانی بالاتر را نشان می دهد. به مثال‌های زیر نگاه کنید:
Maria is going up the ladder.
ماریا در حال بالا رفتن از نردبان است.

Down
یکی دیگر از حروف اضافه‌ی جهت و حرکت 'down' است که برای نشان دادن حرکت به موقعیت پایین‌تر به کار می‌رود. به مثال‌های زیر توجه کنید:
