O Que São Números?
Os números são usados para mostrar a quantidade ou a quantia de coisas. Esta lição irá abordar os números de 1 a 100 em inglês.
1-10
A seguir está uma lista de números de um a dez:
one → um
two → dois
three → três
four → quatro
five → cinco
six → seis
seven → sete
eight → oito
nine → nove
ten → dez
Agora, vejamos alguns exemplos:
There is one cat lying on the car.
Há um gato deitado no carro.
There are seven cars in the garage.
Há sete carros na garagem.
Aviso!
Lembre-se de não confundir 'three' com 'tree'. 'Tree' é o nome de uma planta verde (Árvore).
11-20
Agora, veja a lista de números de 11 a 20:
eleven → onze
twelve → doze
thirteen → treze
fourteen → catorze
fifteen → quinze
sixteen → dezasseis
seventeen → dezassete
eighteen → dezoito
nineteen → dezanove
twenty → vinte
Aqui estão alguns exemplos:
She can see twelve ducks in the street.
Ela pode ver doze patos na rua.
There are nineteen members left in our group.
Restam dezenove membros em nosso grupo.
Sam feels sad for that thirteen-year-old girl.
Sam se sente triste por aquela menina de treze anos.
21-29
Para escrever números como 21, 22, etc., um hífen (-) é colocado entre as partes do número composto. Esta regra é válida para todos os números compostos de 21 a 99.
twenty-one → vinte e um
twenty-four → vinte e quatro
twenty-seven → vinte e sete
twenty-nine → vinte e nove
Atenção!
Em inglês, um número composto como 35 não é lido como 'thirty and five', mas como 'thirty-five'.
Múltiplos de 10
A lista abaixo mostra a forma escrita dos múltiplos de 10, como 20, 30, 40, etc.
thirty → trinta
forty → quarenta
fifty → cinquenta
sixty → sessenta
seventy → setenta
eighty → oitenta
ninety → noventa
one hundred → cem
Agora, vejamos um exemplo:
There were around sixty guests at her house.
Havia cerca de sessenta convidados na casa dela.

Não confunda a pronúncia de alguns números. Por exemplo:
15 → fifteen: /ˌfɪfˈtiːn/
quinze
50 → fifty → /ˈfɪfti/
