Cosa sono i numeri?
I numeri sono simboli usati per indicare la quantità o il numero di cose.
1-10
Ecco una lista di numeri da uno a dieci:
1 → One
2 → Two
3 → Three
4 → Four
5 → Five
6 → Six
7 → Seven
8 → Eight
9 → Nine
10 → Ten
Ora, diamo un'occhiata ad alcuni esempi:
There is one cat lying on the car.
C'è un gatto sdraiato sulla macchina.
There are seven cars in the garage.
Ci sono sette macchine nel garage.
Avvertimento!
Ricordati di non confondere 'three' con 'tree'. 'Tree' è il nome di una pianta verde (albero).

Ora, guarda la lista dei numeri da undici a venti:

12 → Twelve
13 → Thirteen
14 → Fourteen
15 → Fifteen
16 → Sixteen
17 → Seventeen
18 → Eighteen

Ecco alcuni esempi:

21-29
Per scrivere numeri come 21, 22, ecc., si mette un trattino (-) tra le parti del numero composto. Questa regola è valida per tutti i numeri composti da 21 a 99.
21 → Twenty-one
24 → Twenty-four
27 → Twenty-seven
29 → Twenty-nine
Attenzione!
In inglese, un numero composto come 35 non si legge come 'thirty and five', ma come 'thirty-five'.
Multipli di 10
La lista seguente mostra la forma scritta dei multipli di 10, come 20, 30, 40, ecc.
30 → Thirty
40 → Forty
50 → Fifty
60 → Sixty
70 → Seventy
80 → Eighty
90 → Ninety
100 → One Hundred

Attenzione!
Non confondere la pronuncia di alcuni numeri. Ad esempio:
15 → fifteen: /ˌfɪfˈtiːn/
50 → fifty: /ˈfɪfti/
