Co jsou čísla?
Čísla jsou symboly používané k vyjádření množství nebo počtu věcí. V této lekci se naučíte číst a psát čísla 1 až 100 v angličtině
1-10
Následuje seznam čísel od jedné do deseti:
one → jeden
two → dva
three → tři
four → čtyři
five → pět
six → šest
seven → sedm
eight → osm
nine → devět
ten → deset
Podívejme se nyní na několik příkladů:
There is one cat lying on the car.
Je tam jedna kočka ležící na autě.
There are seven cars in the garage.
V garáži je sedm aut.
Pozor!
Pamatujte, abyste si nepletli „three“ s „tree“. „Tree“ je název pro zelenou rostlinu.

Nyní se podívejte na seznam čísel od jedenácti do dvaceti:
eleven → jedenáct
twelve → dvanáct
thirteen → třináct
fourteen → čtrnáct
fifteen → patnáct
sixteen → šestnáct
seventeen → sedmnáct
eighteen → osmnáct
nineteen → devatenáct
twenty → dvacet
Zde jsou některé příklady:
She can see twelve ducks in the street.
Ona vidí dvanáct kachen na ulici.
There are nineteen members left in our group.
V naší skupině zůstává devatenáct členů.

21-29
Pro zápis čísel jako 21, 22 atd. se mezi částmi složeného čísla píše spojovník (-). Toto pravidlo platí pro všechna složená čísla od 21 do 99.
twenty-one → dvacet jedna
twenty-four → dvacet čtyři
twenty-seven → dvacet sedm
twenty-nine → dvacet devět
Tip!
V angličtině se složené číslo jako 35 nečte jako „thirty and five“, ale jako „thirty-five“.
Násobky deseti
Níže uvedený seznam ukazuje psanou podobu násobků deseti, jako jsou 20, 30, 40 atd.
thirty → třicet
forty → čtyřicet
fifty → padesát
sixty → šedesát
seventy → sedmdesát
eighty → osmdesát
ninety → devadesát
one hundred → sto
Podívejme se nyní na příklad:
There were around sixty guests at her house.
U ní doma bylo asi šedesát hostů.

Nepleťte si výslovnost některých čísel. Například:
15 → fifteen: /ˌfɪfˈtiːn/
patnáct
50 → fifty → /ˈfɪfti/
