Vad är negation?
Negation på engelska innebär att göra en mening negativ för att visa att något inte är sant eller inte händer.
Två negativa ord
Två ord används vanligtvis på engelska för att göra en mening negativ:
No (nej/ingen/inga)
Not (inte)
No
"No" används som ett negativt svar på en ja/nej-fråga.

Det kan också placeras före ett substantiv för att göra en negativ mening och visa negation.
We have no time to celebrate.

He has no friends.

Not
"Not" är det vanligaste ordet som används med verb för att visa negation. Till exempel:
I am not a student.
Jag är inte en student.
Den korta formen av "not" är "n’t" och det kommer ofta efter hjälpverb eller modala verb för att göra meningen negativ.
