نفی کیا ہے؟
نفی میں جملہ منفی بنایا جاتا ہے تاکہ ظاہر کیا جا سکے کہ کچھ سچ نہیں ہے یا نہیں ہوتا۔
دو منفی الفاظ
انگریزی میں دو الفاظ عام طور پر جملے کو منفی بنانے کے لئے استعمال ہوتے ہیں:

'No' ہاں/نہیں سوال کا منفی جواب دینے کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
- 'Is there any cake left for me?' + 'No! Sorry!'
- 'کیا میرے لیے کوئی کیک بچا ہے؟' + 'نہیں! معذرت!'
یہ اسم سے پہلے بھی آ سکتا ہے تاکہ جملے کو منفی بنائے اور نفی ظاہر کرے۔
We have no time to celebrate.
ہمارے پاس جشن منانے کا وقت نہیں ہے۔
He has no friends.
اس کے کوئی دوست نہیں ہیں۔
جبکہ اردو فعل نفی کے ذریعے منفی معنی کا اظہار کرتی ہے، انگریزی کسی چیز کی عدم موجودگی کو ظاہر کرنے کے لیے اسم کی نفی کر سکتی ہے۔

'Not' سب سے عام لفظ ہے جو فعل کے ساتھ نفی ظاہر کرنے کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔ مثال کے طور پر:
I am not a student.
میں طالب علم نہیں ہوں۔
'Not' کی مختصر شکل 'n’t' ہے اور یہ اکثر معاون افعال یا موڈل افعال کے بعد آتا ہے تاکہ جملے کو منفی بنائے۔
