sport [noun]

a physical activity or competitive game with specific rules that people do for fun or as a profession

Ex: Football is a popular sport that is played with a round ball and two teams .

half-time [noun]

a short break between two halves of a game or match

Ex: The coach gave an intense speech at half-time .

changing room [noun]

a room that people use in stores, gyms, schools, etc. to change or try on clothes

Ex: He felt a bit nervous waiting in the changing room before his first swim meet .

goalkeeper [noun]

a player that guards the goal in soccer or other sports

Ex: The goalkeeper dove to his left to block the penalty kick .

world record [noun]

the best performance ever achieved in a particular sport, activity, or field

a number representing the points, goals, etc. a player achieves in a competition or game

Ex: The football game concluded , and the final score delighted the crowd .

an award made of gold or gold-colored metal, given to the winner of a race or competition to symbolize their victory
