Ce Sunt Contragerele?
Contragerele în engleză sunt forme scurtate ale cuvintelor, unde două cuvinte sunt combinate și unele litere sunt eliminate.
Cum se Fac Contragerele?
Pentru a face contragere, se folosește un singur apostrof în locul literei/literelor eliminate.
I’m here. → I am here.
Eu sunt aici.
She’s here → She is here.
Ea este aici.
Când Să Folosim Contragerele?
Contragerele sunt folosite în diferite contexte. Iată câteva dintre principalele:
Contractarea Verbelor „To Be“
Diferitele forme ale verbului „to be“, inclusiv „am“, „is“, și „are“, pot fi contractate. De exemplu:
She’s coming. → She is coming.
Ea vine.
We’re talking → We are talking

Auxiliarele și Modalele Negative
„Not“ este folosit pentru a face verbele negative. Pentru a folosi o formă contractată a verbului negativ, litera „o“ este eliminată și se folosește un apostrof în locul acesteia. Acest lucru poate fi făcut atât cu verbe modale, cât și cu verbe auxiliare.

Atenție!
Pentru a folosi forma contractată a „I am not“, doar verbul „to be“ poate fi contractat, nu și negativul. Deci, forma contractată va fi „I'm not“ în loc de „I amn't“.
Verbele modale sunt de asemenea făcute negative folosind „not“. Ca și la auxiliare, ele pot fi contractate prin eliminarea literei „o“ din „not“. De exemplu:
She shouldn't go. → She should not go.
Ea nu ar trebui să meargă.
He can’t sing. → He cannot sing.
El nu poate cânta.
