Vad är interpunktion?
Interpunktion refererar till en uppsättning symboler och tecken som används i skrift för att hjälpa till att klargöra betydelsen av meningar och fraser.
Interpunktionstecken
Det finns många olika interpunktionstecken på engelska. Några av dem är:
Full stop (.) (punkt)
Question mark (?) (frågetecken)
Exclamation mark (!) (utropstecken)
Låt oss nu se hur varje tecken fungerar:
Punkt
Punkt eller period (.) är ett tecken som visar att en mening är avslutad. Vi använder det i slutet av meningar som är fakta och allmänna sanningar. Se följande exempel:
The baby is asleep.
Baby'n sover.
There's a children's playground in the park.
Det finns en lekplats för barn i parken.
Frågetecken
Frågetecken (?) visar att talaren ställer en fråga och vill veta svaret. Se nedan:
Where are the kids?
Var är barnen?
Do you like ice cream?
Gillar du glass?
Utropstecken
Ett utropstecken (!) visar att talaren uttrycker något med starka känslor såsom ilska, överraskning, glädje, etc. Ta en titt på följande exempel:
Get out of the room now!
Kom ut ur rummet nu!
The cat is dying!
Katten håller på att dö!
