Şimdiki Zaman Nedir?
Şimdiki zaman, şu anda gerçekleşen bir eylem veya durum hakkında konuşmak için kullanılır.
Yapı
Şimdiki zaman, 'to be' fiili + ana fiilin -ing hali kullanılarak oluşturulur. Bu yapıda 'to be' fiilinin tam hali veya kısa hali kullanılabilir.

Yazım
Çoğu fiil için, şimdiki zaman oluşturmak amacıyla fiilin temel formuna '-ing' eklenir, ancak fiil '-e' ile bitiyorsa, '-ing' eklenmeden önce '-e' kaldırılmalıdır. İşte bazı örnekler:
make → making
yapmak → yapıyor
take → taking
almak → alıyor
come → coming
gelmek → geliyor
Eğer fiil bir sesli harf + bir sessiz harf ile bitiyor ve son hece vurgulanıyorsa, '-ing' eklenmeden önce sessiz harf çiftlenir. Örneğin:
plan → planning
plan yapmak → plan yapıyor
stop → stopping
durdurmak → duruyor
Olumsuzluk
Şimdiki zaman fiilini olumsuz yapmak için, 'to be' fiiline 'not' ekleyin. Örneğin:
I'm working. → I am not working. (I'm not working.)
Çalışıyorum. → Ben çalışmıyor.
She is eating. → She is not eating. (She isn't eating.)
O yiyor. → Yemek yememektedir.
They are waiting. → They are not waiting. (They aren't waiting.)
Onlar bekliyorlar. → Beklemiyorlar.
Dikkat!
Asla kısa form 'I amn't' kullanmamayı unutun. Onun yerine 'I'm not' deyin.
