Ce Este Prezentul Continuu?
Prezentul continuu în engleză este folosit pentru a vorbi despre o acțiune sau o situație care se întâmplă acum.
Structura
Prezentul continuu se formează folosind "to be" + forma de bază a verbului + "-ing". Se poate folosi forma completă sau forma scurtă a verbului "to be" în această structură.

Ortografie
Pentru cele mai multe verbe, se adaugă "-ing" la forma de bază a verbului pentru a forma prezentul continuu, dar atunci când verbul se termină în "-e", trebuie să se elimine înainte de a adăuga "-ing". Iată câteva exemple:
make → making (a face → făcând)
take → taking (a lua → luând)
come → coming (a veni → venind)
Dacă verbul se termină într-o vocală + o consoană și ultima silabă este accentuată, consoana este dublată înainte de a adăuga "-ing". De exemplu:
plan → planning (a planifica → planificând)
stop → stopping (a opri → oprind)
Negare
Pentru a face un verb la prezentul continuu negativ, adăugați "not" după verbul "to be". De exemplu:
I'm working. → I am not working. / I'm not working.
Eu lucrez. → Eu nu lucrez
She is eating. → She is not eating. / She isn't eating.
Ea mănâncă. → Ea nu mănâncă.
They are waiting. → They are not waiting. / They aren't waiting.
Ei așteaptă. → Ei nu așteaptă.

Amintește-ți să nu folosești niciodată forma scurtă "I amn't". Spune "I'm not".
Întrebări
Pentru a forma o întrebare la prezentul continuu, folosește verbul "to be" la începutul propoziției înainte de subiect și apoi adaugă forma "-ing" a verbului.
I'm working. → Are you working?
Eu lucrez. → Lucrezi?
She is eating. → Is she eating?
Ea mănâncă. → Mănâncă ea?

Prezentul continuu se folosește pentru a vorbi despre o acțiune în desfășurare sau un eveniment care se întâmplă chiar acum.
