Vad är "present continuous"?
present continuous på engelska används för att prata om en handling eller situation som händer just nu.
Struktur
Present continuous bildas med "to be" + -ing-formen av huvudverbet. Den fullständiga formen eller den korta formen av verbet "to be" kan användas i denna struktur.

Stavning
För de flesta verb, läggs "-ing" till grundformen av verbet för att bilda present continuous, men när verbet slutar på "-e", bör det tas bort innan "-ing" läggs till. Här är några exempel:
make → making (göra → görande)
take → taking (ta → tagande)
come → coming (komma → kommande)
Om verbet slutar på en vokal + en konsonant och den sista stavelsen är betonad, dubblas konsonanten innan "-ing" läggs till. Till exempel:
plan → planning (planera → planerar)
stop → stopping (stoppa → stoppande)
Negation
För att göra ett present continuous verb negativt, lägg till "not" till "to be"-verbet. Till exempel:
I'm working. → I am not working. → I'm not working.
Jag arbetar. → Jag arbetar inte.
She is eating. → She is not eating. → She isn't eating.
Hon äter. → Hon äter inte.
They are waiting. → They are not waiting. → They aren't waiting.
De väntar. → De väntar inte.
Tips!
Kom ihåg att aldrig använda den korta formen "I amn't". Säg "I'm not".
