Cos'è il Presente Continuo?
Il presente continuo si usa per parlare di un'azione o una situazione che sta accadendo ora.
Struttura
Il presente continuo si forma usando 'to be' + la forma del verbo principale in '-ing'. Si può usare la forma completa o la forma contratta del verbo 'to be' in questa struttura.

Ortografia
Per la maggior parte dei verbi, si aggiunge '-ing' alla forma base del verbo per formare il presente continuo, ma quando il verbo termina in '-e', questa deve essere rimossa prima di aggiungere '-ing'. Ecco alcuni esempi:
make → making
fare → facendo
take → taking
prendere → prendendo
come → coming
venire → venendo
Se il verbo termina in una vocale + una consonante e l'ultima sillaba è accentata, la consonante viene raddoppiata prima di aggiungere '-ing'. Per esempio:
plan → planning
pianificare → pianificando
stop → stopping
fermare → fermandosi
Negazione
Per fare la negazione di un verbo al presente continuo, si aggiunge 'not' al verbo 'to be'. Per esempio:
