Was ist die Present Continuous?
Die Present Continuous wird verwendet, um über eine Handlung oder Situation zu sprechen, die gerade jetzt passiert.
Struktur
Die Present Continuous wird mit „to be“ + -ing Form des Hauptverbs gebildet. Die Langform oder die Kurzform des Verbs „to be“ kann in dieser Struktur verwendet werden.

Rechtschreibung
Bei den meisten Verben wird „-ing“ an die Grundform des Verbs angehängt, um die Present Continuous zu bilden. Wenn das Verb jedoch auf „-e“ endet, wird es entfernt, bevor „-ing“ hinzugefügt wird. Hier sind einige Beispiele:
make → making (machen → machend)
take → taking (nehmen → nehmend)
come → coming (kommen → kommend)
Wenn das Verb auf einen Vokal + Konsonant endet und die letzte Silbe betont ist, wird der Konsonant verdoppelt, bevor „-ing“ hinzugefügt wird. Zum Beispiel:
plan → planning (planen → planend)
stop → stopping (stoppen → stoppend)
Verneinung
Um ein Verb in der Present Continuous zu verneinen, fügt man „not“ zum Verb „to be“ hinzu. Zum Beispiel:
I'm working. → I am not working. → I'm not working.
Ich arbeite. → Ich arbeite nicht.
She is eating. → She is not eating. → She isn't eating.
Sie isst. → Sie isst nicht.
They are waiting. → They are not waiting. → They aren't waiting.
Sie warten. → Sie warten nicht.
Tipp!
Denken Sie daran, niemals die Kurzform „I amn't“ zu verwenden. Sagen Sie „I'm not“.
Fragen
Um eine Frage in der Present Continuous zu bilden, verwenden Sie das Verb „to be“ am Anfang des Satzes vor dem Subjekt und fügen dann die „-ing“ Form des Verbs hinzu.
