O tempo presente contínuo em inglês é usado para falar sobre uma ação ou situação que está acontecendo agora.
Estrutura
O presente contínuo é formado usando 'to be' + a forma -ing do verbo principal. A forma completa ou a forma abreviada do verbo 'to be' pode ser usada nesta estrutura.

Ortografia
Para a maioria dos verbos, adiciona-se '-ing' à forma base do verbo para formar o presente contínuo, mas quando o verbo termina em '-e', este deve ser removido antes de adicionar '-ing'. Aqui estão alguns exemplos:
make → making (fazer → está a fazer)
take → taking (pegar → está a pegar)
come → coming (vir → está a vir)
Se o verbo termina em uma vogal + uma consoante e a última sílaba é tônica, a consoante é dobrada antes de adicionar '-ing'. Por exemplo:
plan → planning (planejar → está a planejar)
stop → stopping (parar → está a parar)
Negação
Para fazer uma frase negativa no presente contínuo, adicione 'not' ao verbo 'to be'. Por exemplo:
I'm working. → I am not working. (I'm not working.)
Eu estou a trabalhar. → Não estou a trabalhar.
She is eating. → She is not eating. (She isn't eating.)
Ela está a comer. → Ela não está a comer.
They are waiting. → They are not waiting. (They aren't waiting.)
Eles estão a esperar. → Não estão a esperar.
Atenção!
Lembre-se de nunca usar a forma abreviada 'I amn't'. Diga 'I'm not.'

Para fazer uma pergunta no presente contínuo, use o verbo 'to be' no início da frase antes do sujeito e depois adicione a forma -ing do verbo.
