Mik a mellérendelő kötőszók?
A mellérendelő kötőszók olyan szavak, amelyek azonos fontosságú szavakat, kifejezéseket vagy mondatrészeket kötnek össze egy mondatban.
Fő mellérendelő kötőszók
Az angol nyelvben három fő mellérendelő kötőszó van:
and
or
but
And
Az „and” mellérendelő kötőszót arra használjuk, hogy egy szót egy másik szóhoz adjunk hozzá. Például:
She is beautiful. She is kind. = She is beautiful and kind.
Ő szép. Ő kedves. = Ő szép és kedves.
I called Hanna. I called Tommy = I called Hanna and Tommy.
Hívom Hannát. Hívom Tommyt. = Hívom Hannát és Tommyt.
Or
Az „or” mellérendelő kötőszót két vagy több választási lehetőség megnevezésére használjuk. Például:
Are you sad? Are you angry? = Are you sad or angry?
Szomorú vagy? Mérges vagy? = Szomorú vagy mérges?
Do you like pizza? Do you like pasta? = Do you like pizza or pasta?
Szereted a pizzát? Szereted a tésztát? = Szereted a pizzát vagy a tésztát?

A „but” mellérendelő kötőszót arra használjuk, hogy ellentétet mutassunk két szó vagy mondat között. Például:
She is beautiful but cruel.
Ő szép, de kegyetlen.
I love fruits but I’m allergic to strawberries.
Szeretem a gyümölcsöket, de allergiás vagyok az eperre.
