Координуючі сполучники — це слова, що з'єднують слова, фрази або речення, які мають однакову важливість у реченні.
Основні координуючі сполучники
В англійській мові є три основні координуючі сполучники:
and (і, та)
or (чи)
but (але)
And
«And» використовується для додавання одного слова до іншого. Наприклад:
She is beautiful. She is kind. = She is beautiful and kind.
Вона гарна. Вона добра. = Вона гарна та добра.
I called Hanna. I called Tommy. = I called Hanna and Tommy.
Я зателефонував Ганні. Я зателефонував Томмі. = Я зателефонував Ганні та Томмі.
Or
«Or» використовується для позначення двох або більше варіантів вибору. Наприклад:
Are you sad? Are you angry? = Are you sad or angry?

Do you like pizza? Do you like pasta? = Do you like pizza or pasta?

But
«But» використовується для вираження контрасту між двома словами або реченнями. Наприклад:
She is beautiful but cruel.
Вона гарна, але жорстока.
I love fruits but I’m allergic to strawberries.
