O Que São Conjunções Coordenativas?

As conjunções coordenativas em inglês são palavras que conectam palavras, frases ou orações que têm igual importância em uma frase.

Principais Conjunções Coordenativas

O inglês possui três principais conjunções coordenativas:

and (e)

or (ou)

but (mas)

And

'And' é usado para adicionar uma palavra a outra palavra. Por exemplo:

Exemplo

She is beautiful. She is kind. = She is beautiful and kind.

Ela é bonita. Ela é gentil. = Ela é bonita e gentil.

I called Hanna. I called Tommy = I called Hanna and Tommy.

Eu liguei para a Hanna. Eu liguei para o Tommy. = Eu liguei para a Hanna e para o Tommy.

Or

'Or' é usado para nomear duas ou mais opções. Por exemplo:

Exemplo

Are you sad? Are you angry? = Are you sad or angry?

Você está triste? Você está bravo? = Você está triste ou bravo?

Do you like pizza? Do you like pasta = Do you like pizza or pasta?

Você gosta de pizza? Você gosta de macarrão? = Você gosta de pizza ou de macarrão?

But

'But' é usado para mostrar contraste entre duas palavras ou frases. Por exemplo:

Exemplo

She is beautiful but cruel.

Ela é bonita mas cruel.

I love fruits but I’m allergic to strawberries.

Eu amo frutas mas sou alérgico a morangos.
