Що таке дієслово «Be»?
Дієслово «be» може мати різні форми в залежності від часу і підмета.

У теперішньому часі дієслово «be» має три форми в залежності від підмета:

Щоб утворити запитання з дієсловом «be», потрібно змінити місцями підмет і дієслово. Наприклад:
He is an actor. → Is he an actor?
Він актор. → Він актор?
They are angry. → Are they angry?
Вони злі. → Вони злі?
We were home last night → Were you home last night?
Ми були вдома минулої ночі. → Ви були вдома минулої ночі?
Заперечення
Щоб утворити заперечне речення з дієсловом «be», потрібно додати «not» після нього.
I am studying. → I am not studying.
Я вчуся. → Я не вчуся.
She is busy. → She is not busy./She isn't busy.
Вона зайнята. → Вона не зайнята.
He was happy to see us. → He was not happy to see us./He wasn’t happy to see us.
Він був радий нас бачити. → Він не був радий нас бачити.
You were a student. → You were not a student./You weren’t a student.
Ти був студентом. → Ти не був студентом.
