K vytvoření otázek se slovesem „be“ stačí změnit pořadí podmětu a slovesa. Například:

We were home last night → Were you home last night?
Včera večer jsme byli doma → Byl jsi včera večer doma?
Zápor
K vytvoření záporu se slovesem „be“ stačí přidat „not“ za sloveso.
I am studying → I am not studying.
Studuji → Nestuduji.
She is busy. → She is not busy./She isn't busy.
Je zaneprázdněná. → Není zaneprázdněná.
He was happy to see us. → He was not happy to see us./He wasn’t happy to see us.
Byl rád, že nás vidí. → Nebyl rád, že nás vidí.
You were a student. → You were not a student./You weren’t a student.
Byl jsi student. → Nebyl jste student.
