動詞「Be」とは?
動詞「be」は時制や主語に応じて異なる形を取ることができます。
「Be」のさまざまな形
現在形では、動詞「be」は主語に応じて3つの形を持ちます:

「Be」を使った疑問文
動詞「be」を使って疑問文を作るには、主語と動詞の位置を入れ替えます。例えば:

They are angry. → Are they angry?
彼らは怒っています。 → 彼らは怒っていますか?
We were home last night → Were you home last night?

否定文
動詞「be」を使って否定文を作るには、動詞の後に「not」を加えます。
I am studying → I am not studying.
私は勉強しています → 私は勉強していません。
She is busy. → She is not busy./She isn't busy.
彼女は忙しいです。 → 彼女は忙しくありません。
He was happy to see us. → He was not happy to see us./He wasn’t happy to see us.
彼は私たちに会えて嬉しかった。 → 彼は私たちに会えて嬉しくありませんでした。
You were a student. → You were not a student./You weren’t a student.
あなたは学生でした。 → あなたは学生ではありませんでした。
