No tempo presente, 'to be' pode ter três formas com base no sujeito:

Perguntas com ‘Be’
Para formar perguntas usando o verbo ‘to be’, troque o lugar do sujeito e do verbo. Por exemplo:

They are angry. → Are they angry?
Eles estão zangados. → Eles estão zangados?
We were home last night. → Were you home last night?

Negação
Para fazer uma frase negativa com o verbo 'to be', apenas adicione 'not' após ele.
I am studying → I am not studying.
Eu estou estudando → Eu não estou estudando.
She is busy. → She is not busy./She isn't busy.
Ela está ocupada. → Ela não está ocupada.
He was happy to see us. → He was not happy to see us./He wasn’t happy to see us.
Ele estava feliz em nos ver. → Ele não estava feliz em nos ver.
You were a student. → You were not a student./You weren’t a student.
