Was ist das Verb „Be“?
Das Verb „be“ kann je nach Zeitform und Subjekt verschiedene Formen annehmen.
Verschiedene Formen von „Be“
Im Präsens kann „be“ je nach Subjekt drei Formen haben:

I am (ich bin) | we are (wir sind) |
you are (du bist) | you are (ihr seid) |
she/he/it is (sie/er/es ist) | they are (sie sind) |
Hier sind einige Beispielsätze:
I am happy.
Ich bin glücklich.
She is reading a book.
Sie liest ein Buch.
We are friends.
Wir sind Freunde.
Im Präteritum hat es je nach Subjekt zwei Formen:

Fragen mit „Be“
Um Fragen mit dem Verb „be“ zu bilden, tauschen Sie die Position des Subjekts und des Verbs. Zum Beispiel:
He is an actor. → Is he an actor?
Er ist ein Schauspieler. → Ist er ein Schauspieler?
They are angry. → Are they angry?
Sie sind wütend. → Sind sie wütend?
We were home last night → Were you home last night?
Wir waren gestern Abend zu Hause. → Waren Sie gestern Abend zu Hause?
Verneinung
Um einen negativen Satz mit dem Verb „be“ zu bilden, fügen Sie einfach „not“ nach dem Verb hinzu.
I am studying → I am not studying.
Ich lerne. → Ich lerne nicht.
She is busy. → She is not busy./She isn't busy.
Sie ist beschäftigt. → Sie ist nicht beschäftigt.
He was happy to see us. → He was not happy to see us./He wasn’t happy to see us.
Er war glücklich, uns zu sehen. → Er war nicht glücklich, uns zu sehen.
You were a student. → You were not a student./You weren’t a student.
Du warst ein Schüler. → Du warst kein Schüler.
