to sleep [verb]

to rest our mind and body, with our eyes closed

Ex: I often have vivid dreams when I sleep deeply .
to yawn [verb]

to unexpectedly open one's mouth wide and deeply breathe in because of being bored or tired

Ex: The monotonous presentation made the audience yawn uncontrollably .
nap [noun]

a short period of sleep, typically taken during the day to refresh or rest

Ex: He felt so refreshed after a short nap that he was able to tackle his to-do list with renewed vigor .
sleepy [adjective]

feeling the need or desire to sleep

Ex: Driving long distances on the highway can make anyone feel sleepy , so it 's important to take breaks .
to snore [verb]

to breathe through one's nose and mouth in a noisy way while asleep

Ex: Grandpa tends to snore when he takes a nap in his favorite chair .
blanket [noun]

a large piece of fabric made of wool, cotton, or other materials that is used to keep warm or to provide comfort, used on beds, sofas, chairs, etc.

Ex: He pulled the heavy blanket over himself as he settled into the cozy armchair with a good book .
sheet [noun]

a large, thin, and rectangular piece of cloth that is spread on a bed to lie under or on top of it

Ex: The soft sheet felt comforting as she curled up in bed with a good book .
pillow [noun]

a cloth bag stuffed with soft materials that we put our head on when we are lying or sleeping

Ex: Sarah used to cuddle her pillow for comfort and relaxation .
duvet [noun]

a cover for one's bed that is made of two layers of cloth and is filled with feathers, cotton, or other soft materials

Ex: The duvet cover is easy to remove and wash , keeping the bedding fresh and clean .
insomnia [noun]

a disorder in which one is unable to sleep or stay asleep

Ex: The doctor recommended a few relaxation techniques to help combat her insomnia and improve her sleep quality .

a medication taken to induce sleep or relieve insomnia

Ex: It 's important to use sleeping pills only as directed to avoid dependency .

Ex: Because she was a light sleeper , the sound of the alarm clock often startled her awake well before it was time to get up .

a clock that makes a sound at a set time, used to wake up someone

Ex: He programmed the alarm to go off every weekday morning to help establish a routine .

to sleep in a way that one cannot be easily woken up

Ex: After spending the whole weekend relaxing , she felt refreshed and ready to take on the week , having slept like a dog .

Ex: He tends to sleepwalk through the hallways at night , often unaware of his surroundings .
